Crochet Bear Hat
This cute crochet bear hat is quick and easy to make. Instructions include sizes from newborn to child-sized.
I made these in various shades of brown. You can also make super cute black bears, gray bears, or white for a polar bear.
How to Crochet a Bear Hat
This bear hat is a version of my basic double crochet hat pattern with bear ears added on.
You can find the instructions for the basic hat in all sizes from newborn and up here.
Find the size that you need for your hat. Make the basic hat in the bear color that you select (brown, beige, black, white....).
Then make the ears.
Bear Ears for newborn size
Magic ring, 6 SC in magic ring, join to first SC, chain 2 (6 SC)
Round 2: 2 SC in each SC, join, chain 2 (12 SC)
Round 3: *2 SC in SC, SC in next 3* repeat around, join, chain 2 (15 SC)
Rounds 4-5: SC around, join, chain 2 (15 SC)
Round 6: *SC2together, SC in next 3* repeat around, join, fasten off (12 SC)
Bear Ears for 0-3 month and 3-6 month size
Magic ring, 6 SC in magic ring, join to first SC, chain 2 (6 SC)
Round 2: 2 SC in each SC, join, chain 2 (12 SC)
Round 3: *2 SC in SC, SC in next SC* repeat around, join, chain 2 (18 SC)
Rounds 4-5: SC around, join, chain 2 (18 SC)
Round 6: *SC2together, SC in next 7* repeat around, join, fasten off (16 SC)

Bear Ears for 6-12 month and toddler month size
