Valentine’s Day Slime

We made this Valentine's Day slime with the kids and they loved it!  This is an easy recipe.  My kids like to help with each of the steps.  We take turn adding ingredients and mixing them together.

Our Valentine slime is just our basic slime recipe with Valentine-themed glitter, sequins, etc. mixed in.  We used glitter and sequin hearts.  You could add just about anything that's red, glittery, or shaped like a heart to turn your slime into Valentine slime.

Valentine Slime Recipe

This Valentine slime recipe is super simple and will keep the kids busy and entertained for quite some time.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 2/3 cup clear craft glue
  • 4 to 5 tsp contact lens solution (make sure it contains boric acid as the active ingredient)

The Valentine components that we used:

  • 2 tsp red glitter glue
  • a small handful of silver glitter
  • red heart sequins

You could also add:

  • red pom poms
  • red food coloring
  • any other Valentine-themed sequins, etc.

How to Make Slime

  1. Mix the baking soda and water together until baking soda is dissolved.
  2. Add the glue and mix thoroughly.
  3. Add red glitter glue, if you're using it (or any other glitter glue) at this point and mix.
  4. Add contact lens solution and mix thoroughly. This is the step where your slime turns into slime (and not just a puddle of liquid).
  5. Add any extras.  We used silver glitter and red heart sequins here.  Add any other Valentine-themed things at this step.

Note: the more contact lens solution you use, the more solid your slime will be.

Tada!  Slime complete.

Now you can squish it and stretch it and play with it.
