Paper Doily Flowers
We made these paper doily flowers on a whim the other day, and they were super simple for the kids to make. We made a bunch of these cute paper flowers and stuck them in a vase. That vase is still on our dining room table.
I think that my favourite part about these paper flowers is that they require very few materials: just doilies, glue, and pipe cleaners. We had all of these lying around in our craft bin.
How to Make Paper Doily Flowers
...in about 5 minutes.
...and with a bunch of kids.
These cute little doily flowers are a snap to make, and you can whip up a whole bouquet in just a few minutes.
This is a super simple kid craft and easy for little hands to make. The kids can also make all different kinds and colours of flowers: just swap out the white paper doilies for circles of coloured paper.
Materials
- pipe cleaners: green and yellow
- small paper doilies
- glue
- scissors
Instructions
- Cut the green pipe cleaner in half, and the yellow pipe cleaner in thirds.
- Curl the end of the yellow pipe cleaner into itself to form a small, tight spiral on the end.
- Twist the yellow pipe cleaner and the green pipe cleaner together to form the stem.
- Glue the pipe cleaner to the center of the doily.
- Fold one side of the doily down and glue it to the pipe cleaner.
- Fold the other side of the doily down and glue the end to the first side.
- Gently shape the lily by pushing the two sides together.
Finished! Paper lily complete.
