Crochet Minecraft Creeper
I made this crochet Minecraft creeper for my kids' birthday this year - along with a ghast and a couple of TNT blocks. They are really into Minecraft and also into stuffies, so it seemed like a natural choice.
This creeper is super cute when he's finished, and he's soft and huggable.
You can make your creeper with any worsted weight green yarn and a bit of black yarn for the face.
Crochet Minecraft Creeper Pattern
Here is the Minecraft creeper crochet pattern.
Gauge for this project is not important.
Materials
- 3.75 mm crochet hook
- 2 balls of Cascade 220 Superwash yarn (2 x 219 yarns) or other light worsted weight yarn in green
- scrap of light worsted weight yarn in black
I used light worsted weight yarn and a 3.75 mm hook. You can go smaller or larger, and you will get a slightly smaller or larger stuffy.
Creeper Body
(Make 4)
Chain 14. Turn, SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each following chain (13 SC).
Chain 1, turn, SC across (13 SC).
Work straight for a total of 26 rows.
Fasten off.
--
(Make 2)
Chain 14. Turn, SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each following chain (13 SC).
Chain 1, turn, SC across (13 SC).
Work straight for a total of 14 rows.
Fasten off.
Finishing
Holding two sides together, and SC along the edge, joining the 2 pieces..
Repeat for all 4 rectangular sides to create a rectangular prism. Attach top and bottom by holding each side together with one side of the rectangle body and SC around.
Stuff with polyester filling before SC-ing the final edge closed.
Note: you want your SC “seams” to be on the outside of the creeper. This gives it a more “blocky” shape, making it more like an actual Minecraft creeper.
Creeper Head

Chain 14. Turn, SC in 2nd chain from hook and in each following chain (13 SC).
Chain 1, turn, SC across (13 SC).
Work straight for a total of 14 rows.
